C Is For…..

C’mon–do I really have to type this out?

C is for Cookie, that’s good enough for me. C is for Cookie, that’s good enough for me. C is for Cookie, that’s good enough for me. Oh! Cookie, Cookie, Cookie start with C.

I love Cookie Monster. I love him so much I could marry him. Good ol’ cookie monster.

Okay, what else does C stand for?

C stands for my nephew Chase, who fought a valiant battle against Cystic Fibrosis (another C word, but one I absolutely loathe). He was an absolute stinker, and I loved him with all my heart.

Clash, The Cult, Phil Collins, Carly Simon, Carole King, Cat Stevens, Cheap Trick, Chicago, Chris Isaak, Christina Aguilera, Cole Porter, Corinne Bailey Rae, Cranberries, Credence Clearwater Revival, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Cyndi Lauper–All C’s, and all great music.

Corn–as in fresh off the cob and either lightly steamed or raw in this really delicious corn & black bean salad I like to make.

Crystals. I enjoy accumulating crystals. For example, right now on my desk I have an amethyst cluster, a citrine cluster, a chunk of rose quartz, and a small chunk of malachite-azurite.

Chakras. I’ve been working on my root chakra lately, and it’s been cool. I found an oil blend that just sings to me, and I’ve been wearing it instead of perfume.

Criminal Minds. I have waxed rhapsodic about the show before, but I can’t praise the acting and direction highly enough. The cast is amazing, and the stories compelling, even the gross ones where I have to cover my eyes at certain scenes. And I definitely have the hots for SSA Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore IRL). That is one beautiful, beautiful man. Wouldn’t it be lovely to hear him calling you “baby girl”? Mmmmm.

Clover, aka CC James, who has been my bff for 18 years or so. She is one of the most amazing people I’ve ever gotten to have in my life. She has been there for me through thick and thin, good or bad, highs and lows. I adore her. And if you knew her, you’d adore her too. Guaranteed.

Chocolate. Specifically Belgian chocolate. Not those boxes you buy in the grocery store that proclaim themselves to be Belgian chocolate. Not that they’re not okay, but I’m talking about delicious Belgian chocolates that were in Belgium the day before your husband got home and gave them to you. Chocolates so rich and flavourful that you nibble on one excruciatingly slowly just so the texture and flavour can melt tantalizingly on your tongue.  (I managed to make the box last 4 days. That may be a record for me.)

Chaucer! I love Geoffrey Chaucer, and if he were alive now, I’d want to marry him. Okay, so I’ve already told you I also want to marry Cookie Monster. Hmmm. That’s an interesting combination–Chaucer & Cookie Monster. But it makes sense. Cookie Monster would keep us in cookies, nutrition (ha!) for the body. And Chaucer would keep my mind and intellect going. See? It works.

And since I said Chaucer, you have to know what’s coming next: The Canterbury Tales. Seriously–have you ever read them? If not, you are SO missing out. If you have a kind of earthy bawdy sense of humour, I strongly recommend The Miller’s Tale and the Wife of Bath’s prologue and tale.

So that’s it for today. Not because I couldn’t keep going on about C things, because there are all kinds of lovely things that start with C. Share some with me, won’t you?
