and I feel fine.

Sort-of. Yesterday my physical therapist said that on average, people who had the total knee arthroscopy are able to walk about a quarter of a mile at the 6 week point.  So today I decided that I could go pick up my contact lenses myself. That entailed parking outside Sears at the mall, walking through Sears to the optometrist’s office outside Sears but on the same wing, and then turning around and walking back through Sears to my car. He also told me to start weaning myself off of my cane, but to take it with me when I am doing longer walks so that if I need it for balance it’s there. Just the walk to the car and the drive to Sears got my knee nicely swollen. So I did have to use my cane. And that can’t have been anywhere near a quarter of a mile.

So I’m below average. :(   Thank goodness for ice!

Oh, and it’s not really TEOTWAWKI, although it does seem as if it’s heading that way, what with devastating earthquakes and tsunamis, doesn’t it?
