No Nonsense Girl had this up, and I stole it from her. Hmmmm. . . if I’m a thief, does that mean I’ll get nothing but coal in my stocking?
1) Wrapping paper or gift bags?
It depends on the gift. If it’s a nice, easy-to-wrap shape, I like to wrap it with paper. That probably stems from my stint as a professional gift-wrapper for Sears when I was in high school. But if it’s an awkward shape, I’ll do gift bags.
2) Real tree or artificial?
I honestly prefer a real tree, but we use an artificial one. No needles to clean up, which is a bonus, but no smell of pine tree in the house, which is a minus.
3) When do you put up your tree?
Usually the day after Thanksgiving, but not always.
4) When do you take the tree down?
After New Year’s, or as long as Joe manages to drag it out.
5) Do you like eggnog?
I like the soy eggnog. It’s got the flavour without being so heart-cloggingly thick.
6) Favorite gift received as a child?
bicycle
7) Do you have a Nativity scene?
Not right now. Our last one had some pieces break, and I haven’t found just the right one.
The hardest person to buy for?
Dad and the Monster
9) The easiest person to buy for?
Joe and the incomparable Izzybella
10) The worst Christmas gift you ever received?
No worst here.
11) Mail or e-mail Christmas cards?
I’m really bad about sending out Christmas cards. I buy them, but then they sit there in their boxes, taunting me, until after Christmas when I hide them.
12) Favorite Christmas movie?
White Christmas
13) When do you start shopping for Christmas?
Black Friday
14) Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?
Yes. Do you have a problem with that? (No Nonsense girl said this, and I agree)
15) Favorite things to eat at Christmas?
Joe’s mashed potatoes.
16) Clear lights or colored on the tree?
It depends on the tree. This year we have white lights, because I went with my white/gold/burgundy themed tree.
17) Favorite Christmas song?
All of them
18) Travel at Christmas or stay home?
Stay home usually
19) Can you name all Santa’s reindeer?
Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph. And Chet.
20) Angel on the tree top or a star?
Joe likes stars but I prefer angels. Usually we have an angel.
21) Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?
Christmas morning
22) Most annoying thing about this time of year?
rude people in the stores…
23) What is the “corniest” family tradition you do or miss doing?
Begging the parental units to let us open a gift on Christmas Eve, not realizing that was the plan all along.
24) Ugliest Christmas decorations ever invented?
So many, I can’t tell you!!!!
25) Which looks the best…theme trees or homey trees?
They all look wonderful.
26) What does Christmas mean to you?
It is a time to celebrate the Savior’s birth. It’s also a time to celebrate family and friends, to be together, to put aside petty differences and be reconciled to each other.
