Random 10 – Week 109
10 songs that sum up your weekend…or were on your weekend playlist…and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
- I Want You to Want Me – Cheap Trick. I chose this one because it was featured on the soundtrack to John Tucker Must Die, a fun little movie I watched on Saturday evening. And because I like it.
- Blue River – White Cloud. My husband wrote this one, with a little help from me on the lyrics. The feel of the song just goes along with the overall feel of my weekend.
- Comfortably Numb – Dar Williams. I had a very stressful week last week, worked a lot of overtime (well, a lot for me), got sick, been real twitchy. So I was feeling really, well, peculiar Friday night. Comfortably numb describes sort of how I was feeling.
- Run, S***head, Run – Mudhoney. I had a few moments of extreme annoyance at my husband. Extreme annoyance.
- Wordplay – Jason Mraz. I watched the documentary Wordplay on Saturday, and just loved it. In fact, it rekindled a burst of needing to work crossword puzzles. I go through those spurts. But I only like to do the extra-hard themed puzzles, and I only do them in ink. So I get burned out pretty quickly.
- Stupid Girls – Pink. I suppose this one fits the discussions that kept coming up about Pa*ris Hilt*on, Lin*dsey Loh*an, et al.
- Maggie May – Rod Stewart. One of the ring tones I downloaded for the new phone I got this weekend. I had to get a new phone because the antenna was broken on my old phone, and since rehearsals start next week for the show and I couldn’t get a signal at Soleil’s flat due to my broken antenna, I needed the new phone.
- Political Science- Randy Newman. I start feeling this way when I hear too much gloom and doom and despair. And considering that I was treated to a rant before 8 a.m. on Saturday morning, yeah.
- Random- 12 Girls Band. I chose the song at random (get it) from their discography, because Joe got tickets for us to go see them in October.
- One Angry Dwarf – Ben Folds. I chose this one because it’s one of my favourite Ben Folds songs, and I love to play it at top volume in my car stereo as I speed away from the office at 4 p.m. every Friday.
And a picture that relates back? Well, the picture doesn’t relate to my weekend playlist, but I do have a picture from the weekend that I really like. My friend M. came over Sunday evening for dinner, and Molly jumped up on the loveseat with her. I got this not-so-great picture:
